Colours and their meanings

Over the years, a lot has been written and studied about colours and how they can impact our daily lives or evoke certain emotions.

SDC10599Have you ever stopped to think about why certain colours are used in certain places? For example, the colour red is the colour of fire and blood. It is associated with energy, strength, power, passion, desire and love.

As we all know, due to its very high visibility, it is used in stop signs, fire equipment, high voltage signs and traffic lights.

The colour green symbolizes nature, it is calm and refreshing. People waiting to appear on TV sit in “green rooms” to relax. Hospitals often use green because it relaxes patients.

White is pure and clean. Brides wear white to symbolise purity while doctors where white to imply sterility.
